“And though she may be small, she is fierce. For her heart has no borders.”
— Compiled from multiple sources

Welcome January 2022; our UMW is ready to go! COVID has slowed us down but our work is never going to stop. We will always provide, nurture and advocate for all the women and children in the world, through the love of Jesus Christ. Yes, His love and grace help us to join people of faith and goodwill from across Virginia. UMW work with the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy in Richmond to advocate for our cherished rights as Americans. The UM Day at General Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27, in person, where we will congregate at the Capitol to view congressional meetings, visit with our senators and delegates and act on social justice issues of our UMW campaigns. We’ve made excellent advances this past year. Please register at: vaumc.org/umday. Cost is $25 and includes lunch and transportation. If you wish to go and cannot afford it, please contact Jo Rawls at jo@rawls.com. Let us love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of His Spirit, always!

CIRCLE MEETINGS
Chestnut Memorial has had a rich history of women working together in the name of Jesus Christ through United Methodist Women. Our members work and advocate for the voiceless, mentally challenged and much more, with a particular emphasis on supporting women, children and youth. Our world is our mission field and we promote growth and renewal in a relationship with Christ.
